Delivered with an empty gas cylinder. Indisputable. Refrigerator did not run on gas, although it was supposed to switch automatically between gas and electricity. No instructions available for this "programmable" fridge and therefore no way of solving the problem yourself if necessary. So the pitches were virtually forced to run on electricity. Given that maui is supposed to be the top provider, the car had a relatively high mileage and was already showing signs of wear and tear. No parts list for the "vehicle interior", kitchen utensils etc.. The number of items of cutlery etc. did not correspond to the possible number of vehicle occupants (6).

Everything went smoothly and it was a good decision. The CamperDays team was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions. Thank you for that 🙏

The following points were less satisfactory: 1. chairs and table were missing, although booked 2. waste water tank was not emptied 3. water and waste water tank indicator defective 4. gas cooker defective 5. vehicle pulled slightly to the left 6. starter battery defective 7. tyres borderline worn There doesn't seem to be a proper checklist at the motorhome provider that is used to put the vehicle through its paces! Or the faults are simply not rectified even though they know about them! In any case, at this price (>€200/day) I expect perfection down to the last detail. This was clearly missed!

Great vehicle as described. Unfortunately, no training by the rental station. Everything has to be watched on video. A short personal introduction would be enough and very helpful. Otherwise, very friendly staff. Handling by Camperdays perfect 👌

Camper was not quite as specified (no reversing camera) and above all not properly checked before handover (gas bottle was empty, grey water tap open, standard adapter for fresh water hose missing). In addition, 5 rather large damages to the windscreen, which I did not expect from a supposed premium provider. Price/performance ratio therefore not satisfied. Apart from that, we had a great time with the camper for 18 days.

Not clean, water coming in when it rains, lockers no longer working, outdated car, high price for the quality and space you get. Entrance door/fly window did not close. No explanation when you pick up the trolley, you are directed to instructional videos.

We embarked on a two-week journey, renting a campervan for over 4000 Australian Dollars, with high expectations of a seamless and enjoyable adventure. Unfortunately, our experience has been marred by a series of issues that have significantly impacted our trip. On the 12th of November, we spent two hours in communication with Sophia from Britz, addressing problems such as a blocked toilet drain and a seemingly defective 240-volt battery. Despite diligently following troubleshooting instructions, including attempting manual clearance of the toilet blockage and resetting the battery, our efforts were in vain. This meant we were unable to use the water pump/water, have a shower, or use lights and electrical facilities of the van. We were promised a service appointment to resolve both issues the next morning, and our location was shared promptly. Regrettably, the promised callback from David in Shark Bay only came in the late afternoon when we had no reception, and subsequent attempts to establish contact were unsuccessful. Additionally, our email seeking assistance went unanswered. As a consequence, we have been forced to seek powered campsites daily, as the van is rendered unusable without a power connection. It was only after contacting Britz again on the 15th of November that we were able to secure a service appointment in Exmouth for the following day. It was during this appointment that we discovered we had been driving with a faulty battery since the beginning of our journey. While the battery has since been replaced, new issues continue to surface regularly, including missing hinges, malfunctioning cabinet doors and drawers e.g. the cutlery drawer opens and closes while we are driving and appears to have an issue with the lock mechanism, thus is noisy and always a fright while driving and feels unsafe; the bin door has been temperamental from day one, same with the cupboard door for the coffee plunger, kettle etc; a defective side door and screen door that doesn’t secure shut has been difficult to manage on a daily basis. The glass coffee plunger that came with the van was broken when we discovered it in the cupboard on day one. The culmination of these problems forced us to cancel our Outback tour that we had booked due to a lack of confidence in the vehicle and Britz services. Furthermore, the extended periods required for issue resolution by customer service, coupled with the threat of financial responsibility for user-error problems (i.e. the flat battery that had nothing to do with user error), have only added to our frustrations. We strongly question whether the van underwent any kind of thorough pre-handover inspection and who bears responsibility for critical issues arising in remote locations to ensure safety and security of Britz customers, who are essentially travellers. Especially in WA, where we’ve found through our experience with Britz, that service/s are quite limited. This was not what we expected from Britz. Had we been aware of the reliance on cities, service availability (including the time drain and inconvenience to our daily plans in just making a phone call and waiting to be picked up as well as the actual call time speaking with the customer service representative), and power requirements, we would have opted for a smaller vehicle and stayed in conventional accommodations. The subpar condition of the van has severely limited our daily activities, and whilst Sophia and Wendy were warm and tried to be helpful, ultimately they could only do so much, which has left us in a lurch time and time again. Frankly, the standard of Britz customer service overall (including long call times, lagging service and responsiveness, poor checking of the vehicle between customers ~broken doors and drawers, coffee plunger etc) has been disheartening and has impacted our experience and our trip on a daily basis. In addition, it is crucial to underscore that this trip represented a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity for me, a rarity that is challenging to replicate. The extended duration of leave from my professional and also private responsibilities, required for such an extensive journey, was an exceptional and seldom-granted concession within the confines of my employment. The profound disappointment stemming from the suboptimal state of the rented campervan has not only disrupted the anticipated enjoyment of this unique experience but has also cast a shadow over the rarity of this significant personal investment in leisure time. In light of these challenges, we find it necessary to file a formal complaint and seek resolution for the inconveniences we have endured during this rental period. We appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to a swift and satisfactory resolution.

The collection took a very, very long time. This meant that 1/2 day was almost lost. Some damaged parcels were not accepted. Fortunately, this transmission error was reversed without any problems. However, it could have been avoided and meant a lot of stress at the beginning. The camper was relatively dirty at the beginning, but in itself super nice and easy to use.

We were given a small upgrade when we picked up the car. The car was in great condition and the equipment was also completely sufficient and in good condition. The only negative is that the floor was still dirty and a bit sticky but the rest was really great. We would book with Apollo again and again.

Although the vehicle was a camper, the equipment was not very creative and sometimes worked poorly or not properly. For example, the drawer for the rechaud was defective. There was a gas cooker available. However, this always had to be placed on a table. A full gas cylinder, which was supposed to be included in the rather expensive additional package, was missing. Instead, three gas cartridges were provided, but these were not sufficient and replacements were difficult to obtain. The folding table inside always fell apart. So eating on it was always a shaky affair. The scales tap is in a silly place and the tank is rather small. This means that an off-road experience for longer than one night is hardly possible, especially if you use the shower. No waste water tank - so camping is not allowed in many places. A toilet would be a matter of course for the price we paid. The bunch of keys with about 20 keys without labelling is an imposition. There was no suitable description for the awning or the side sun blind. It kept jamming when the roof had to be raised or lowered. There is no suitable storage space for the table and chairs, which are included in the overpriced additional package. You can only put them in and they are then in the way all the time. The power supply for the fridge, lights and USB ports worked well. Unfortunately, 220V is only available if you connect the camper to the 220V mains. This means that a laptop cannot be charged off-road and the kettle and toaster are useless gadgets. 4WD Adventure is an exaggerated description (the off-road traction boards were not available, there was no pump to bring the tyres back up to pressure for the road after the necessary deflation). The vehicle itself worked well and reliably - as you would expect from a Toyota and the proud rental price. Otherwise the camper was clean, bed linen and towels met expectations.

The standard of the camper van at hand over at the Perth office was exceptionally poor. We had to ask that the cleaning of the interior was re-done but even at the second attempt the hygiene standards was not acceptable. In addition, curtains were dirty and some not in good repair, side door and flyscreen window were faulty, oil change was two months past it change date and the sign-off report in Perth that was e mailed included images of damages to the campervan that were from a previous hire - yet the office insisted that they were valid until a later e mail corrected their error. After many e mails that were sent but not actioned there was a small financial refund given.
We had a great holiday with the camper and always felt that we were in good hands. We were given a larger model on site.

Unfortunately, the camper is much older than expected: 130,000 kilometres, the sunbathing areas are already very worn. The tables are battered. The layout is very well thought out. If the camper was newer, it would be a fine vehicle.

At Lucky Bay you’ll see Kangaroos on the beach and a one-of-a-kind Pink Lake, which looks simply spectacular in the midday sun.
