RV rental in Heidelberg

Positive: The vehicle is as good as new and modern inside. Lots of cupboards and storage compartments. Fuel consumption is still acceptable. You can still park well despite the size of the vehicle. Negative: Gas pipes defective, magnetic strip on window cover defective. No power from the sockets without a connection from outside.

Unfortunately, our booked vehicle was damaged before handover and could not be repaired. The rental company reacted in an exemplary manner and immediately offered us an upgrade to a higher vehicle class. The motorhome was brand new and therefore in perfect condition. The check-in and the entire handover process took less than an hour, as did the return. There were several minor damages to the interior of the vehicle which the hire company was extremely accommodating in dealing with. Everything went smoothly and was really fun! However, the car was handed over without any technical checks being carried out. In our case, for example, a hose on the gas bottle was not attached tightly enough, so that the whole car smelled of gas the first time we turned it on.

The comfort for the size of the vehicle is always given - small, but everything you need is there. Some parts of the camper are already worn out and in need of repair in certain areas of the interior. The pick-up and return were uncomplicated - but this is because the customer has to check the camper himself when picking it up (via online checklist). There are no special instructions or assistance at first. The return is unusually quick and rather superficial as far as the status of the vehicle is concerned. This leads to the conclusion that many small damages and defects remain undetected due to the lack of thoroughness.

Great information when booking, good documentation by email, nice vehicle, nice staff, uncomplicated collection and return. It was fun!

All expectations were more than fulfilled

Very friendly and helpful employees at the Mainzer location. Nearly new van in great condition. Steve showed us all the necessary things we needed to know to get going. It would have been nice if the camper had had a solar panel and battery to be able to stay easier of grid for a while.

Is se very very good camper

Great for a van trip around Germany, plenty of room but easy to drive.

For the two of us, the division of the compartments and with the bench folded down is impractical. You can't reach it and have to constantly push it back and forth and do and do. Annoying. The car itself drives great, fuel consumption OK, bed OK, handling OK.

The MB Camper is very cramped even for 1 person. With 2 people, it is far too small for a holiday trip of at least 1 week without an awning. There is very little space and storage options. The awning is good. The upper bed is ok. The effort to make up the lower bed is great and should only be considered in emergencies. The bike rack is far too high, so you have to lift a bike 1.5 metres off the ground to attach it. As a result, the van is 2.5 metres high and loses its car dimensions. All in all, a campervan like this is no fun, it's better to hire a larger motorhome for a similar price. We have now realised that.
