Maui Beach was very suitable for use by 4 adults. The seats on the bench are not very comfortable for long journeys. The technical condition of the vehicle was very good. So was the equipment. Sat nav and awning were available (not mentioned in the description). We had booked the Premium package. The camping furniture could be quickly and easily adapted to our needs when we picked up the vehicle. There was sufficient linen and kitchen utensils and they were in good condition. The change of linen was also uncomplicated (in Christchurch and Queenstown). The service at the Maui station at pick-up and drop-off was very good, good explanations and the staff were very friendly. There were minor faults which did not affect us significantly and were noted on return (mosquito net on a skylight was leaking, skylight in the shower was leaking, but fortunately we rarely had rain, battery of the smoke detector had to be changed). The cleanliness when we picked up the camper was unfortunately mediocre. Cleaning was necessary to feel comfortable. Overall, we were very satisfied with the camper. Many thanks to the team at Maui Station Christchurch!

Overall a good experience... could be better if gas orovided for bbq and gas lpg refill was included in price as many garages do not offer this service . Also disappointed that brake pad warning appeared which we found a little disconcerting given the steep hills we encountered.
We had a 4 Birth for 4 weeks which was still quite new. The heating was not completely connected at the factory and the hot water was also connected incorrectly (that the previous tenants didn't realise this?). Cost us a lot of trouble and 1 day in the workshop. The concept and layout of the vehicle itself is very good, but it is made of the "cheapest" materials everywhere. So there were always problems with drawers falling out on bends etc. It's just a mass rental camper.

The briefing in Christchurch was done inadequately by a gentleman who spoke poor English. The Sprinter itself was in good condition and, being a Mercedes, was easy to drive. The table should be replaced and a few hooks could be fitted in the vehicle. Otherwise well equipped. The return was quick and good. Unfortunately we forgot something in the car, whether we will get it back remains to be seen.

Maui is highly recommended. New vehicles, fully equipped and beds in which you can sleep very well. Toilet top, kitchen ok. And a little more comfort can't hurt, especially on longer trips, longer holidays...

Simple, fast booking. We were always reliably informed before and during the trip.

A lot of money for not even average performance: We had to return the first car after 5 minutes because the lane was out of alignment and the car kept pulling hard to the left. After we had to explain that we had NOT driven into/across something and spent a total of 3 hours at the station, we were finally able to drive off with a new trolley. In the second one, the drawers didn't hold due to a lack of screws, the fan heater was faulty and the water pump was extremely loud, which kept making itself heard at night and waking us up. Unfortunately, we only realised this in the evening after a few hours of driving, so we had to make do without a fan heater until Queenstown. The drawers were 'repaired' in Queenstown, which lasted exactly two turns, and we had to live with the water pump until the end. After we found the previous tenant's report in the car, we knew that these problems had already been reported but not fixed. This has a flavour.

You can always do better, but in this case it was difficult to do anything other than lower the price a little.

If we were to travel to New Zealand a second time, thl would definitely be the last company we would rent a motorhome from. The vehicle was in a desolate condition, both technically and visually, so we wondered whether it had even been checked before handover. The battery was broken, the drain was blocked, the city newspaper didn't work, the water tank was leaking and it smelled of rotten eggs. This is how customers are sent on a journey for 6 1/2 weeks and at a price that is quite something.

Apollo was top notch at every step. We were so incredibly pleased with our rental experience. We will definitely rent from Apollo again. A special thanks to the office staff at the Christchurch Airport location. They made the check out and check in process so smooth and they were so helpful and friendly. Thank you again, Apollo. See you next time.

Very old camper with various technical problems. Mighty campers at thl are always very old at the moment, 5-7 years old. It's better to hire a Maui, they are 1-2 years old, at least at the moment.

Rating for Mighty Camper - 3.5/10 stars Our experience with Mighty Camper was unfortunately disappointing. As soon as we picked up the vehicle we noticed several faults, which were exacerbated during the journey. Negative: -The gas bottle was empty when we picked it up - very annoying as we had to replace it immediately. -The pole for the awning was broken, which made it difficult to use. -The board for the bed was broken, so we had to improvise. -The handle on the flyscreen door was broken, which made it difficult to use. -The water pump was getting louder and louder and was particularly annoying at night. -The water hose was leaking, making food wet and unusable. -Mattresses and pillows were completely worn out - it was almost impossible to get a good night's sleep. -The fly screen had several leaks, allowing insects into the vehicle. -The suspension was defective, which made the journey very uncomfortable. -The car pulled strongly to the left, which impaired driving safety. Positive: -The engine had good power and the vehicle was largely easy to drive despite the faults. -The diesel consumption was pleasingly low. -The bed linen and towels were adequate and clean. Conclusion: Despite some positive aspects, the technical defects and the poor condition of the camper clearly outweighed the positive aspects. For the price, we would have expected much better maintenance and quality. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Mighty Camper.

The sliding door anchorage broke on the very first day. The outside table was broken. It wasn't clean either. Wouldn't rent a campervan again for the short rental period. It's too expensive for that.

I was given a Maui camper van that was less than a year old. Everything worked fine, very comfortable and clean.

It was very unpleasant that the vehicle (Chaser) smelled very unpleasant when I picked it up, it was really dirty, as well as very old and used up (255,000km - that's why it smelled so unpleasant) I do campervan tours worldwide, unfortunately this was the worst experience so far and coincides with the reports of my competitors on Google - The Jucy vehicles look nice, but some of them are NOT recommended because they are really old. You have to be careful what you get for a lot of money. Take a close look when you take delivery, make a complaint straight away and don't put up with it

First camper on day 2 failure due to technical defect, lost 2 days because I had to go back to the starting point, got a new camper there, at the new camper, noticed during inspection that the radiator fluid was missing and the wiping water was so dry that I had already formed dust in the tank, back to the starting point, vehicle have an extremely high fuel consumption of 15-17 litres per 100 km, price performance not corresponding to the age of the vehicle. Year of construction 2008 with 384000 km or 345000 km

Hello, We drove the Jucy Crib for three weeks and the comfort left a lot to be desired. The car was simply very old and had already clocked up over 400,000 kilometres. We were therefore not satisfied with this vehicle. The automatic windows had to be repaired by me, the radio key didn't work properly either, the driver's door and the right-hand sliding door had to be opened and locked manually. The sliding doors were also very sluggish, the small fridge didn't cool properly and was very noisy. I would not take this car again.

Simple and efficient rental: pick up in Christchurch and drop off in Queenstown, very practical! Good value for money, a bit expensive!
Translated automatically -
We waited almost 4 hours for the vehicle, even though we had pre-booked a pick-up time online. The Jucy team in Christchurch was totally overwhelmed. The vehicle was dirty inside. Leftover food on the tables, cups that hadn't been washed, the sink didn't drain, very dirty upholstery, the electrics had a loose connection,...
Translated automatically -
The vehicles are not checked. Dirty when taken over. Old vehicle with many defects. Expired gas bottle that could no longer be used. It rained into the camper

Perfect sized campervan!! Well designed for 2 adults traveling. Lots of storage compartments for food and personal belongings. Comfortable sleeping as well. Seat cushions are starting to show a little wear, but still comfortable.
Our car was probably at the end of its life cycle. The living room and kitchen were very worn and partly dirty. The exhibition was also rather inferior.

Helpful tips for your trip to Christchurch
When you book a campervan for hire in Christchurch, the best time to visit the area is between March and May because then you get the best mix of autumnal colours, pleasant weather conditions, and not too many tourists and crowds.
- Outdoor activities
It is best to visit Christchurch, like much of New Zealand, during summer from December to March if you plan on doing many outdoor activities. The days are much longer and brighter, and temperatures range between 16 and 24 degrees.
- Hiking
Unless you want to hike in the summer, we recommend you aim to rent a campervan in Christchurch during spring, sometime between September and November, as the temperatures are milder without being too cold or rainy.
- Beach holidays
If you intend on spending a lot of time at the beach, it is best to rent a motorhome in Christchurch during summer. Be aware that this is also the busiest time of the year for the beaches, so you will have to cope with more people than at other times.
Campervan offers for couples in Christchurch
For a romantic trip for two exploring Christchurch and other cities nearby, a smaller motorhome is just right. Discover our selection of vehicles for two people and explore together.
Campervan offers for families in Christchurch
If you want to go on a family camping holiday in Christchurch, we recommend a large motorhome. Alcove models are very popular with families with children, as the motorhomes are spacious and have several sleeping and seating areas.
Campervan offers for dog owners in Christchurch
Whether it's a campervan or a classic motorhome, there are now several rental companies in Christchurch that allow pets in their vehicles. In the CamperDays search, you can easily search for suitable offers using the "Pets allowed" filter.

Best campervan driving routes from Christchurch
Christchurch to Queenstown
The best way to use your motorhome rental in Christchurch is to take advantage of the many beautiful driving routes you can try. Below are a few of the most popular to consider for your trip.
Christchurch to Queenstown
When you are short on time and want to try and experience as much of the impressive South Island as possible, take a short route from Christchurch to Queenstown. Start the route in Greymouth, a little seaside town, then travel southwards along NZ’s rugged coastline, stopping at the Fox and Franz Josef glaciers, marvelling at their majesty before travelling down through the mountains towards Queenstown. This entire part of the South Island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so every bend, corner, turn, ascent and descent will allow you to be in awe of nature.
Christchurch South Loop
If you have more time to explore the South Island thoroughly, take the Christchurch South Loop. Enjoy the rich variety in the passing land, from rugged coast to windy, pristine beaches and then glaciers and mountains. Look out for Lake Tekapo and the Southern Alps as key parts of this journey.
Christchurch North Loop
What about a journey that takes you through more winding roads and introduces you to more of the wildlife NZ is famous for and its wine? From Christchurch, head along the northern loop, taking in the seafood cuisine delights of Kaikoura, the very northernmost tip of the South Island, Marlborough Sounds, and make sure you visit Nelson Lake before going on an adventure around Abel Tasman National Park.
Sites of interest and excursions in Christchurch
Arthur’s Pass National Park, South Island
Arthur’s Pass National Park was the first in South Island when it opened in 1929. It covers around 1,185 square kilometres of predominately mountainous terrain. You will find exciting animals like Who, Kakariki Karaka, Kea, Great Spotted Kiwi and Weka.
Banks Peninsula, Christchurch
This beach has been there for over 6 million years, when two volcanoes violently erupted, and the resulting craters became the harbours of Akaroa and Lyttelton. The entire part of the coast covers around 1,150 square kilometres. There are several bays across Banks Peninsula where you can stop to worship the sun, catch a tan, or participate in various water-based activities.
