RV rental in San Francisco

Picking up the vehicle was uncomplicated, the staff seemed a bit bored and unmotivated, especially annoyed. Our camper - a C30 had 71,000 miles on the clock... the engine was incredibly loud, so that you couldn't understand a word at the wheel. The beds were good, there was nothing wrong with them. The vehicle had not been cleaned and the petrol tank was not full. There were crumbs and dust everywhere. The indicators for grey and black water and the fresh water tank did not work. In the kitchen, the panelling of the cupboards, including the lamp, came loose. The booked kitchen equipment is a joke. 4 plates, 3 cups, at least 3 year old mugs, aluminium cutlery which was very worn, a non-usable pan. The shower leaked so that the camper was always wet after a shower. The fridge stank like mad and the shelves were rusty and missing in places.

Good vehicle for a road-trip of around twenty days in California, Utah and Nevada for two couples. The bunk bed above the driver is not very comfortable, unlike the other double bed. The kitchen is good, with a large sink.

The vehicle **** was not very new, it had a lot of use, but everything worked well and we have no complaints.

We waited over 4 hours for the pick-up and therefore received the promise that we would not have to carry out the dump and not fill up the propane gas. Unfortunately, this was not honoured and we did not receive a reply to our letter to Cruise America. In addition, the drop-off address was no longer correct. This caused us an additional loss of time and money.

Vehicle with 200,000 kms on the clock. Exterior condition not great (rims rusty, dirty) Interior condition: dirty and worn, floor in poor condition, grey, black and clear water warning lights not working properly. Driving: steering not very precise or even dangerous (play in the steering wheel) Major leak at the tap on the camper van when connected to mains water. Multiple leaks from the grey and black water drainage pipes. Broken heating thermostat Fridge: shelves broken or missing

Everything is fine so far, except for the drain hose, which was already old and leaking, and there are a few signs of wear and tear that I consider normal.

The camper was fairly new and exactly the size as ordered. The collection went smoothly and quickly, the return was very busy, so there was a bit more waiting time.

Basically good reliable company, however, the rented one was not quite clean, and had a few small things that were not perfectly in order (non-functioning indicator light and tyre pressure of 1 tyre) but otherwise totally okay!

We were very happy with the camper. The model was super new and had everything we needed. The people at El Monte were very helpful and friendly. We can only recommend it!

We spent 2 weeks in our campervan from El Monte, that was our first experience with RV. The pickup process was smooth and the personnel was very helpful and honest. They offered us to thoroughly document scratches on the camper body and not to buy unlimited generator use according to our needs which was very pleasant to us. The trip was wonderful and it was really worth it. Our RV was clean and everything functioned very well, the interior was not new but in a very good condition. The only downside was mattress quality but it didn’t affect my sleep. The cost of fuel was as expected., 20-22 l/100 km but the gas can be pretty cheap there 3-4$/ga lThe drop off was quick. The price was better on camperdays then on official ElMonte website. We are still waiting for the deposit, hope everything will go also smooth.

Very good! I recommend it with my eyes closed! Top pick-up and drop-off, responsive to contacts during the journey. Modern vehicle in good condition.

Air conditioning not working, strong vibrations in the drive train, furniture knocked out, generator not working in hot areas. We were not at all satisfied with the camper. However, after 3 months of negotiation, we got a good 10% of the hire price back. Incidentally, the campervan was 1/2 year old, but was put together very cheaply

Unfortunately, there were various signs of wear and tear, considering that the vehicle was supposed to be no more than 2 years old: - the seat covers of the driver and passenger seats were quite dirty/stained - several cupboards were chipped or the veneer had come loose - the water in the shower tray was difficult to drain because the drain was blocked by hair, the silicone on the tray and the shower bracket were also coming loose from the wall - the lower moulding on the fridge door had to be constantly pushed down - a moulding by the window in the seating area had come loose and could no longer be attached No major defects, but noticeable overall. Photos could be provided if required. Nevertheless, we had a great holiday and would probably book through CamperDays again.

All fine. No Problems with the RV

The vehicle consumes 22 litres of petrol per 100 kilometres. Rental costs are very high compared to Europe and South Africa.

Vehicle was as expected. However, the service, especially on the phone, was not really helpful or endeavoured. We had three issues where we called the service hotline and sometimes they were unavailable or couldn't fulfil any of our requests.

The RV was too big for our needs. The hire company (Roadbear) told us that this often happens at Britz.

As I understand it, Britz is a kind of subsidiary of Roadbear. You can't choose a vehicle, but get one that is currently available. But it is cheaper and there is a restriction of max. 2 adults + 2 children (capacity of the smallest camper in the fleet). As a small family we did well with it, had a large camper in good Roadbear quality (more expensive than other providers, but newer campers and the service is right). I would do it again.

We were nervous when we first picked this up as we thought we'd made a mistake getting something so big but after we got used to driving it about we were so relieved to have chosen family freedom. It was our wee home for a month and it was so lovely to come back to after a day of exploring. Plenty room to cook and chill out in. Loved that we didn't have to set up a bed every night. It was comfortable for long drives also. Only downside was parking it in some places. Not every place we visited accommodated for this size of RV and that was quite a challenge. The entire pick up and drop off was incredibly simple. We drove Heidi for miles and miles and she did not let us down. Would absolutely choose this service and this size again for future travels and adventures.

The vehicle itself was in good condition, only 29,000 km, new tyres, everything clean. However, a cover for the awning and the flap for the generator were missing when the vehicle was handed over. The waste water drain plug was replaced when the vehicle was handed over. The battery was flat, so the awning did not work. The waste water sensor did not work properly and displayed 3/4 full although the tank was empty. Therefore, you could not rely on the display. LPG tank and petrol tank were only 2/3 full. In addition, the grate on the cooker was broken. So much for the condition of the vehicle when it was handed over. During the journey we damaged the passenger door. There was no telephone number we could call. A visit to Roadsurfer in Las Vegas was no help either, as we were turned away by an unfriendly employee with the words that we would have to organise a repair ourselves and bear the costs ourselves. Roadsurfer USA Support told us to contact Camping World, but Camping Word Las Vegas was closed for the next 4 days. We were supposed to be called back, which never happened. Furthermore, communication by email was not fluent. In the meantime, we only received a reply from Roadsurfer USA after a week. In addition, the equipment of the camper was very spartan: neither a broom / shovel nor the connection angle for connecting the waste water hose to the waste water system was provided on the campsite, so that the hose did not have to be connected properly but had to be held.

Insurance did not cover everything despite the high price. The kit we paid for did not include a tablecloth, outdoor chairs or a coffee machine. The caravan was new but the furniture inside was of poorer quality and you had to be careful.

Super nice staff and the booking to drop-off via mighty camper was really great. You get the El Monte service and our vehicle wasn't really much older.

It's a bit too big for two people. We don't have a problem if there are a few scratches on it. But we can't keep an eye on them all when we pick it up. Now we're looking forward to the return?
