Robust motor. No mechanical problems. Free shuttle to take us back to the airport. A few loose screws here and there but nothing serious. I would recommend

Everything was great!!! The RV was in great condition, only the fridge was a bit weak (not good for cooling in warmer weather) and the square door handles were a pain from time to time. :) Otherwise everything was really good: enough horsepower, stable driving behaviour, great interior. You can go on holiday like this! The RV centre in Seattle was also very good, everyone was super friendly. Especially after the return we got extra help with the organisation of the Uber (greetings to Dirk, that made our day!!). We would choose Roadbear again at any time!

With Cruise America it's a 50/50 chance how good the vehicle is. This time we had a relatively new C21 with few problems. Last time we had a total loss while driving, but this time it seemed to me in the yard that Cruise America had modernised the fleet quite well. The staff are very friendly, and no unrealistic expectations are placed on the return. The price-performance ratio is very good, but you should not have excessive expectations. The vehicle was superficially cleaned when you picked it up, but you shouldn't look too closely. Here you have to go to roadbear/El Monte,... The campers are then much better, but usually also much more expensive. All in all, Cruise America did a good job with this rental, and considering the relatively low price, the service was good. Expectations were met, but not exceeded.

- Unfortunately, we got a very old camper (130,000 miles on the clock, 3-5 years old), without a USB port in the driver's cab, already cracks in the upholstery, surfaces that are peeling off, many signs of wear inside and outside, one day a yellow warning light came on, but was off again the next day, for the price we would have liked a newer and more modern vehicle + the C-30 is very spacious and comfortable, it has taken us 3,800 miles well through the west of the USA

Motorhome has a V8 engine and gets a good 10 MPG.

Uncomplicated collection and return. Significantly cheaper than the competition. Vehicle had a few quirks, but all in all it was fine, safe and roadworthy.

The vehicle did have a few minor defects, is rather poorly finished and consumes a lot of petrol. It is also very noisy. What bothered us the most was how bad Cruise America's customer service was, even though we wanted to extend our stay.

Sturdy vehicle, completely reliable. The right size with 2 teenagers. Completely uncomplicated return (despite a small additional scratch). Length of the RV was never a problem, only General Sherman Tree we had to approach from the back, but worth it!

Professional pick up and drop off service
old and dirty, infested with mice, very expensive. Will never rent again with Cruise America / Canada.

We picked up the camper van in Seattle and dropped it off in Los Angeles. Everything went smoothly. We would choose Escape CamperDays again if they had a suitable offer.

All in all, a good vehicle. The brakes were a bit weak when you really had to step on them. The tap with the hand pump was a bit stubborn, it often sprayed everywhere but where you needed it. Unfortunately, the central locking system on our van didn't work, which often made locking and unlocking it difficult. The additionally hired fan heater often went out after a few minutes and had to cool down. Otherwise, however, everything worked well and we were satisfied overall. The fridge did a good job and the car ran well.

Handy hints for your trip to Seattle
June, July, and August are amongst the best times of year to rent a motorhome in Seattle and explore the mountains and national parks. Rainfall is low, and Seattle and its surrounding areas enjoy high levels of uninterrupted sunshine, perfect for taking in those magnificent views. July and August only average 5-6 days of rain, and the ambient temperature is a comfortable 20-25 degrees. Seattle is infamously rainy outside the main season, so stick to the summer months.
- Campervan heaven
If you could design a dream location for campervan holidays, then Washington State is it. The Pacific Northwest is home to vibrant and exciting cities, large areas of remote forest, picturesque mountains and 3,000 miles of rugged coastline.
- The great outdoors
Whether you want to admire the scenery or get into the terrain hiking and biking, Washington State is home to 186 State Parks, three National Parks, 24 National Historic Landmarks and 17 National Natural Landmarks. The areas around Seattle are picturesque adventure playgrounds, so picking up campervan in Seattle is the ideal way to spend time in this unspoiled landscape.
- History and culture
Museums in Seattle capture the native heritage with arts, crafts and other relics of the Pacific Indian tribes. More recent history is also documented, including MoPOP, the Museum of Pop Culture – Seattle was, after all, home to Jimi Hendrix – and the Museum of Flight. Aviation has always had a significant presence in Seattle, where Boeing has a proud history spanning more than a century.
Campervan offers for families in Seattle
If you want to go on a family camping holiday in Seattle, we recommend a large motorhome. Alcove models are very popular with families with children, as the motorhomes are spacious and have several sleeping and seating areas.
Best campervan routes in Seattle
Mount Rainier National Park
Just under two hours southeast of Seattle, Mount Rainier National Park has jaw-dropping scenery, including waterfalls, mountains, and wildflower meadows. Officially classified as 97% wilderness, this is the place to return to nature, a haven for hikers and bikers, and a picture-postcard backdrop for campervan hire in Seattle. For the most scenic driving route, take the WA-7S and WA-706E, a distance of 154 kilometres.
Snoqualmie Falls
Visit after heavy rain or snow to see them at their most impressive. Named after the Snoqualmie Tribe, the falls are perfect to head to after you hire a campervan in Seattle, as they are just half an hour east of the city at a distance of 54 kilometres. The most direct route is the I-90 heading east. If you're heading back to Seattle, take the 203 to Duvall, then across to Woodinville, and back to the city via the 405. The 203 is a beautiful highway with stunning scenery and interesting stopping places.
Leavenworth
Leavenworth is a Bavarian-themed town just over two hours' drive from Seattle and 217 kilometres. This picturebook Alpine wonderland is a great visit during the autumn months and around Christmas, but beyond the town, the area is renowned for hiking during all four seasons. The most direct route from Seattle to Leavenworth is on the I-90 E and then the US-97 N. However, if you want to make a more extended, scenic trip, there is another route past Rimrock Lake, Narada Falls and Mount Rainier National Park, which is 547 kilometres and takes between six and seven hours. Motorhome for hire in Seattle makes this scenic journey even more fun.
Sites of interest and excursions in Seattle
Olympic National Park
Rent a campervan in Seattle and head to Olympic National Park. Olympic National Park is a spectacular wilderness, and a campervan is the perfect touring vehicle to view the ancient forests, including the Hoh Rain Forest, with a river valley so quiet it is known as the most silent place in the country. Enjoy remote beaches with views of the mountains. If you join a guided tour, there are interpretive nature walks with knowledgeable naturalist guides.
Seattle Coastline
If you like mountains with your beaches, then the coastline around Seattle ticks all the boxes. There are exceptional wildlife spotting opportunities, including whales, golden eagles, mountain lions, elk, and grey wolves, plus sea cave kayaking for the adventurous.
Victoria, Canada
Visit the capital of British Columbia, and don't forget your passport! Victoria is laid-back and old-fashioned compared to Seattle, with plenty of evidence of its British history with double-decker buses and cafes serving afternoon tea. Located on Vancouver Island, Victoria is known as Canada's Garden City because of its flowers and gardens and has the mildest climate of any Canadian location.
